On 20th December, 2013 Igor Kalietnik, the First Deputy of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, visited Vinnytsia National Agrarian University, from which he graduated in  1993. The meeting was special, because today every student asks himself, who he will be after completion of studying? Such an  example shows that students and graduates of VNAU have very great opportunities.

The Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Ravil Safiulin, President of NAASU Vasyl Petrychenko, First Deputy of Minister of Education Yevhen Sulima, First Deputy Minister on Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Ivan Bisiuk visited the university too.

The President of University Gryhorii Kaletnik invited guests on the tour. They visited  modern lecture halls, computer labs, the dining room and the library. They took part in practical lessons of future agronomists, economists and customs offices. A mini-concert of amateur university collectives was a gift for guests. In future the administration of VNAU plans to build a large sports complex for students, lecturers and residents of the city.

First Deputy of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Igor Kalietnik unveiled university’s art gallery, where there is a selection of paintings of social realism that demonstrates the process of development of Ukraine's agricultural sector and labor of Ukrainian peasants.

"Many of these paintings depict fragments of hard work of peasants. All this is close to me, because I was born and grew up in the village, during vacations I worked on the collective farm. Ukrainian character of our hardworking people is transferred through heroes of pictures. These pictures will contribute to the education of these features in the current generation of students,"- Igor Kalietnik said, transferring the art gallery to the university’s museum.

The guests met with students, teaching staff and graduates.

First Vice-Speaker noted in his speech the high level of scientific, educational and industrial potential, which has been achieved by combining the University and the institute of NAASU (All-Ukrainian scientific-educational consortium).

First Deputy of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine awarded with diplomas and awards of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine distinguished scholars and teachers - the first director Boris Zribniak, Professor Vasyl Mamalyha, senior lecturer Lina Bronnikova, senior lecturer Yurii Tomchuk, assistant professor Fedor Dzhos,  senior lecturer Vasyl Tomchuk, associate professor Ivan Polishchuk and honorary rector Leonid Sereda.

Present officials paid attention to the state system and the current socio-political situation in Ukraine. "History has examples when discord between Ukrainians led to tragic consequences - said in his speech Grygorii Kaletnik - we should not  expend energy on infighting. We need to join our force for the prosperity of our country.  Ukraine should take care of it’s own national interests. We have laws, harmonized with the European legislation. Therefore, it is necessary to work in accordance with them and then we will achieve European standards of life."

First Deputy of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Igor Kalietnik analyzed the situation in the country: "In every matter  the interests of our country, every citizen of Ukraine should be a priority. Our government must be strong and independent, have a friendly partnership with both the West and the East. We should take full advantage of our opportunities and analyze the experience of other countries to avoid similar mistakes."

In conclusion Igor Kalietnik welcomed  guests, university staff,  students with New Year and Christmas. He wished health and well-being to every family, faith in the fact that we will all overcome a difficult situation, and our native independent state will be one of the most powerful countries in central Europe.
